Employees, administration, and the Board of Directors of the Crisis Center Foundation will demonstrate commitment to the following guiding principles in philosophy and service delivery to victims of domestic violence:
At our organization, we help victims of domestic violence regain or develop the skills needed to live without further abuse. We believe that using violence to control or manipulate behaviors is ineffective, extremely harmful, and could be life-threatening. We believe everyone is entitled to a life free from fear, violence, and harm. This includes being free from isolation, intimation, threats, emotional, economic, sexual, and physical abuse, as well as using children as pawns to control or manipulate a victim. We believe those using these tactics should be held accountable for their actions.
The Center provides services in an inclusive, safe, supportive, violence-free environment where individuals are empowered to make their own decisions and choices. All services are self-determined and trauma-informed. Services include a 24-hr crisis hotline, emergency shelter, counseling, legal advocacy, general advocacy, children's services, community education, and prevention. The Center enjoys a great deal of support from the communities it serves and has numerous networking agreements with other providers. Representatives of the Center participate in various multidisciplinary coalitions, groups, and committees. Advocates frequently present to various community organizations to educate the community and raise awareness. Advocates Co-Chair the Morgan County Family Violence Council and participate in the Greene County Family Violence Council.
